【摘要】:Useofthispracticewillimprovemanagementandcontrolofmetalremovalfluids.Thepropermanagementandusewillreducedermalandotheroccupationalhazardsassociatedwiththesefluids.4.1.1GuideE2148coversinformationonhowtousedocumentsrelatedtohealthandsafetyofmetalworkingandmetalremovalfluids,includingthisdocument.DocumentsreferencedinGuideE2148aregroupedasapplicabletoproducers,tousers,ortoall.1.1Thispracticesetsforthguidelinesfortheselectionandsafeuseofmetalremovalfluids,additives,andantimicrobials.Thisincludesproductselection,storage,dispensing,andmaintenance.1.2Water-misciblemetalremovalfluidsaretypicallyusedathighdilutionanddilutionratesvarywidely.Additionally,thereispotentialforexposuretoundilutedmetalremovalfluidasmanufactured,aswellasmetalremovalfluidadditivesandantimicrobials.1.3Straightoilsgenerallyconsistofaseverelysolvent-refinedorhydro-treatedpetroleumoil,asyntheticoil,orotheroilsofanimalorvegetableorigin,includingoilsthataremodifiedforperformancecharacteristics(forexample,esterifiedrapeseedoil,andsoforth).Straightoilsarenotintendedtobedilutedwithwaterpriortouse.Additivesareoftenincludedinstraightoilformulations.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
