【摘要】:Oxidationonsettemperatureisarelativemeasureofthedegreeofoxidativestabilityofthematerialevaluatedatagivenheatingrateandoxidativeenvironment,forexample,oxygen;thehighertheOOTvaluethemorestablethematerial.TheOOTisdescribedinFig.1.TheOOTvaluescanbeusedforcomparativepurposesandarenotanabsolutemeasurement,liketheoxidationinductiontime(OIT)ataconstanttemperature(seeTestMethodE1858).Thepresenceoreffectivenessofantioxidantsmaybedeterminedbythistestmethod.Typicalusesofthistestmethodincludetheoxidativestabilityofedibleoilsandfats(oxidativerancidity),lubricants,greases,andpolyolefins.FIG.1DSCOxidationOnsetTemperature(OOT),ExtrapolatedOnsetTemperature1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthedeterminationoftheoxidativepropertiesofhydrocarbonsbydifferentialscanningcalorimetryorpressuredifferentialscanningcalorimetryunderlinearheatingrateconditionsandisapplicabletohydrocarbons,whichoxidizeexothermicallyintheiranalyzedform.1.2TestMethodA8212;Adifferentialscanningcalorimeter(DSC)isusedatambientpressure,ofoneatmosphereofoxygen.1.3TestMethodB8212;ApressureDSC(PDSC)isusedathighpressure,forexample,3.5MPa(500psig)oxygen.1.4TestMethodC8212;Adifferentialscanningcalorimeter(DSC)isusedatambientpressureofoneatmosphereofair.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
